If you’ve ever had problems with your skin, and even if you haven’t, you are probably familiar with facial products. Moisturizers, cleansers, exfoliators, poor refiners, toners; the list is really endless. Like many people, I grew up with cystic acne. It was drilled into me early that having acne meant your skin needed to be kept as clean as possible (as recommended by my doctors and dermatologists). I spent most of my teenage years vigorously scrubbing, washing, moisturizing, picking, and popping my acne to no avail.

One day I stumbled across some information on the internet that had the exact opposite approach. It said that all those face products can make acne worse! At first I thought it sounded crazy, but the more I read about it, the more it made sense! Thousands of years ago people didn’t spend hours per week washing and obsessing over their skin, and acne was very rare in those days (you can read here on why this is). So, I gave it a try and it definitely helped my skin!

Here is an outline of what the caveman regimen is and how to get started.

I am super excited to be reviewing products from Red Apple Lipstick today! I have wanted to review Red Apple Lipstick ever since I did my first make-up review on UltraPure Cosmetics. Similar to 100% Pure and UltraPure Cosmetics, Red Apple Lipstick is a company that sells non-toxic cosmetics. All Red Apple Lipstick products are free of petroleum byproducts, animal ingredients, gluten, soy, corn, and GMOs. One thing that stands out about Red Apple Lipstick to me is the amount of color variety with their eye shadows and lipsticks; they have a lot more variety compared to other natural cosmetic companies I have seen. For this review I purchased 1 lipstick, 1 lip liner, 2 eye shadows, and 1 eye shadow primer. Read on to find out how I liked these products!

Have you ever considered switching your personal care products to more natural alternatives? It might surprise you that conventional (drug store brand) personal care products can contain ingredients that are harmful to your health. Personal care products are also called cosmetics and are defined as any product we use on our body such as toothpaste, hair spray/gel, moisturizers, deodorant, cosmetics, lotions, shaving cream, soaps, shampoos, conditioner, and more. These are products we use on our body every single day, so using non-toxic products can make a world of difference! Read on to learn about why conventional personal care products can be harmful to our health, where to buy safe products, and my favorite natural product brands.
