Taking a Break

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog! I am currently taking a break from consultations and writing articles, but am still more than happy to answer questions. I am taking a break because I am currently in school full-time.

I do not have a specific date that I will be back up and posting regularly, but when I do I will send out an email to my subscribers – so if you are interested in being notified of my return, you can subscribe here.

Thank you for all the support!

Skin Care: The Caveman Regimen

If you’ve ever had problems with your skin, and even if you haven’t, you are probably familiar with facial products. Moisturizers, cleansers, exfoliators, poor refiners, toners; the list is really endless. Like many people, I grew up with cystic acne. It was drilled into me early that having acne meant your skin needed to be kept as clean as possible (as recommended by my doctors and dermatologists). I spent most of my teenage years vigorously scrubbing, washing, moisturizing, picking, and popping my acne to no avail.

One day I stumbled across some information on the internet that had the exact opposite approach. It said that all those face products can make acne worse! At first I thought it sounded crazy, but the more I read about it, the more it made sense! Thousands of years ago people didn’t spend hours per week washing and obsessing over their skin, and acne was very rare in those days (you can read here on why this is). So, I gave it a try and it definitely helped my skin!

Here is an outline of what the caveman regimen is and how to get started.

This is a super easy salad to whip up using leftover chicken (turkey works too). I love to eat this salad for lunch! Avocado is full of tons of healthy fats and is highly satiating, which gives you the energy to work through the rest of your day. Eating this salad for lunch will help you avoid that post-lunch energy crash because it is high in protein and fat, while low in carbohydrates (a likely culprit of the crash). Romaine lettuce is also high in chromium, a natural blood sugar stabilizer!

Product Review: Red Apple Lipstick

I am super excited to be reviewing products from Red Apple Lipstick today! I have wanted to review Red Apple Lipstick ever since I did my first make-up review on UltraPure Cosmetics. Similar to 100% Pure and UltraPure Cosmetics, Red Apple Lipstick is a company that sells non-toxic cosmetics. All Red Apple Lipstick products are free of petroleum byproducts, animal ingredients, gluten, soy, corn, and GMOs. One thing that stands out about Red Apple Lipstick to me is the amount of color variety with their eye shadows and lipsticks; they have a lot more variety compared to other natural cosmetic companies I have seen. For this review I purchased 1 lipstick, 1 lip liner, 2 eye shadows, and 1 eye shadow primer. Read on to find out how I liked these products!
